Algae
I have switched over to dosing from Seachem Reef Advantage to BRS soda ash and have noticed that when I add the BRS it turns milky white and then precipitates into fine granules. The Seachem never did this. It would turn milky and then disperse. Is this normal for BRS?
tanktop74
I use it, dose using a dosed and don't seem to have a problem with this. How much do u dose at a time? It's fully mixed and dissolved?
NoobtoSalt
I have the same issue. I've been using it for at least six months now and no problems with it though. Most days I dose and ounce of soda ash. I have it premixed in a container and it still does it. I'm guessing just a reaction to mixing with the saltwater? Algae
Hey Beth! Yeah, I am dosing about 20 ml or .75 oz. slowly into a high flow area. I am using the higher concentration via BRS instructions.
madmike
I believe the chemistry guys on RC state that it is Magnesium that precipitates out of the water but easily goes back into solution once mixed in. Just keep dosing in a high flow area and you should be fine.
Bigjohnwoody
Mine does this as well. I have the exact same thing happen and have used these products since the beginning. Seems to be a great product. Now you need some dosing pumps to automate it.

I have the Masterflex #'s memorized! I have a CA reactor I am setting up ([language filter] metric fittings) that I will be dosing with. My automated Kalkwasser reactor pretty much keeps up with only occasional dosing of CA and buffer. I am like you, in that I love gadgets!
