Michael7979
I suggest raising your mag slowly. add asmall amount daily until you reach your desired level. Then' date=' before you do a water change, test the new water and raise that level to match what you are removing from your tank.[/quote'] +1 on this ^^^
TheGooseWhisperer
Is it just me' date=' or do you need ridiculous amounts of Mag Chloride/Sulfate to raise your mag? The calculator on BRS says I need 2613mL to raise it to 1350. Is there a better solution?[/quote'] 2.6L is little over half a gallon...ballparking your total volume thats about 0.5% of your total water (2x55g +33g and guessing sump is only partially filled, so guestimated in the 120-130g range). So adding the Mg would be diluting it about 200-fold. If you are looking to make up a difference of about 300 ppm then your stock would be 60k ppm or 60 ppt. If thats about what your stock is then it should be right. Imo its a nice way to double check. Hope I didnt mess that up though...its been a long time since ive done benchwork:p
