jgf86123
We picked up a PS2 today from Brad, it's got the monster cable hook-up. I can't hook it up to our TV, our Dish Network box an our DVD player are already hooked up, plus it doesn't have a spot on the back of the TV, it's an old Zenith, for the one hook-up, but I can hook it up to both the Dish Network reciever and the DVD player, but I can't get it to play on the TV.... Any ideas on how I can hook this thing up without purchasing new cables?
NoobtoSalt
The some pictures or tell more info on what type of connections everything has.
jgf86123
No pics, sorry, the dog broke the camera stepping on it a couple weeks back. I've got 2 sets of hook-ups on the back of the tv, one set, the dish network reciever is plugged into, it's a red an white, on the other, the DVD player is plugged in to, it's a red, white an yellow. The hook-up for the PS2 is a monster cable, it's got a blue an a red plus a HD port/plug? Brad could explain it better than I can lol. I can hook it up to either the dish reciever or the DVD player, but not the TvV
NoobtoSalt
Sounds like you need the standard definition cables. The monster ones you got have how many connections? I'm guessing five total
jgf86123
3 total on the monster cable I got from Brad
rgrcrain
Does your dvd player have a remote with a input button that you may have to press to select?
J.R
You could always buy an RCA splitter. Normally a standard def cable has 3 colors - Red, white and Yellow for video. Hi-Def composit is 5 cables - Red, Green and blue for video and Red and white for audio.
CrazyInside
ps2's should have another cord that is just the standard red white yellow.. if the monster cable has only 2 prong type and i'm assuming the HD is a flat plug that won't work with your tv. jgf86123
That is exactly the problem Roger n Jon, I've got a monster cable, it's got a red an blue plug, and n HD plug, but that's it...I wonder if I can plug it into a computer monitor? No sound, but at least I'd have video....
jgf86123
Scratch that, no plug in on the back of the monitor(comp) that matches, so much for that idea
NoobtoSalt
You keep saying HD connection but the PS2 doesn't have that capability. Is it maybe an S-video cable? That is exactly the problem Roger n Jon' date=' I've got a monster cable, it's got a red an blue plug, and n HD plug, but that's it...I wonder if I can plug it into a computer monitor?
