Nyles
Man there is so many! (nutty) here are my goals, and I know its not cheap... Ph probe, temp probe, light timers (day, actinic, and moonlight timer) internet accessible with controllability via browser, wireless controller or RJ45, (rs-232 not acceptable), water level control (not required but would be nice). Its looking to me like the Aquatronica is the way to go, can people please share others? I have looked at the profilux and neptune as well. Any suggestions? H20cooled
I have the Neptune AC3 and love it, it does everything you mentioned and more. What I like about it over a lot of the other ones, is it comes with an Ethernet port and a webserver built in, so you do not need to buy separate modules for that. nu2reef-n
I don't have one yet, looked into them. Kind of spendy, I have it on the short list. There's one for sale on E-bay. Here's the link. http://cgi.ebay.com/Neptune-Systems-Aquacontroller-III-3-with-DC-8_W0QQitemZ110085842123QQihZ001QQcategoryZ117435QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Nyles
thanks for sharing, I might bid on it. Thanks both of you.
Nyles
Oh man, Im sold, it will control my cal reactor too.... and monitor tank ph and shut down the co2 if tank ph drops to low. Now I just need to save the money... lol
H20cooled
Yep the AC3 has 2 inputs that can be used for 2 pH probes or a ph & orb probe. I use 2 pH 1 for tank and 1 for CA reactor. If you don't win the eBay one look on RC in the premium aquatics forums, they have had some real good group buys of them.
Nyles
thanks again, not sure if wife will let me get the ebay one on such short notice. She will notice the smile a mile away and say no before I get a single word out of my mouth.. LOL.

Piero
I'm REALLY liking the Biomatix model: link and the Aquatronica too. love the graphical interfaces for the displays and the web apps for Biomatix look really great.
oldbrownies
looks pretty, and simple to navigate
izzypop
love my aquatronica. The power bar is what sold me. It is well made and designed to handle the bigger watt stuff. Plus they are always releasing cool new stuff and moving forward.
Piero
yeah the Aquatronica system looks amazing. Graphs on the interface! I think it's competative with the ACIII price too. I'm leaning towards it.
izzypop
Yea I had the Neptune and DC8 before the Aquatronica and the Neptune IMO is a "home made" style controller. The DC8 had me just mad when I opened it to see a "high school" electronics lab project in there. It would never run the power I'm running through my power bar currently. Neptune is a great product don't get me wrong but it is dated. The controller was okay though and good "US" product but "Europe" has it beat once again. Nyles
So with the aquatronica what does it take to get the webserver access? I assume I have to buy the $180 module, and can it control 2 ph probes? I will assume even though the site I am at says nothing about it that its programmable between plug (ie if ph probe drops to 7.9 I can turn on refugium or shutoff cal reactor) Is there a good site to research this? The form on RC says the dc8 handles more wattage than aquatronica.. where is proper info? As for the on screen graph its a nice thought but completly worthless for me, I would prefer to see it on the pc where I can put it on the big pc screen and I don't need coke bottle glasses to read it. Nyles
So is the lighthouse new or is it junk? It does everything I need, control cal reactor, ph monitor, control lights, custom chiller, heaters, graph ph and temp. Looks interesting. Piero
got me, I had no idea about half of those. Nice to see some more 'fleshed out' products though because our past options seem to be more like mass-produced projects as apposed to full-blown commercial products. Nyles
AHHHHHH, just to many.... LOL. I like that biomatix one too, the lighthouse is to limited.
sknoch78
My vote is for the Aquatronica unit. I bought mine after I got frustrated with the Neptune power strips. I have not regreted the change one bit. It gives me complete control over everything and appears to be infinitely expandable. Now that the webserver has been released, it is a complete unit. This was a must for me as I travel. Just my .
powdertang05
anyone have the reefkeep 2 are the as good or do you just like it for the interface
Piero
The Aquatronica and Biomatix units I must say have polished and usable hardware and software interfaces that by comparison make the older Octopuss and Neptune products seem like DIY projects. powdertang05
where can you buy the bio martrix
Piero
I had a link but lost it. google 'biomatix' or post on that 'controller comparison' thread on RC and see if that turns up anything.
