stylaster
Hi all! We want to host the Christmas meeting this year in the Salem area. I need help if you know of a restaurant that has banquet facilities to house around 100 people. Please PM me the name and phone number, or post in here. Thank you much! Michael7979
Are we serving dinner thru the restaurant? Potluck? Or what?
Barelycuda
Most likely if you have it at a restaurant you will have to use their food. A nice buffet with a large banquet room would be cool or a facility that we could rent and make it a big potluck.
jgf86123
It'd be awesome if they had a Golden Corral there lol
jgf86123
But alas, that is not meant to be, but, I did find this list: http://salem.diningguide.com/dt2buf.htm
Michael7979
Well there is the Chinese Rest. that was used a couple of years ago, name escapes me right now. Using Micks list the only ones that might work would be Tin Tin Buffet and Walerys. But I have been to neither so I don't know if they have a room that would work. I will continue thinking about and see if I can come up with some other ideas.
Michael7979
After the Salem Meet&Greet at Guadalajara we should know if their room is an option also.
stylaster
I was hoping to use the restaurants food, and maybe they would give us a group discount. I know last year the room was way to small, so i would rather have more room then not enough
Mr S
Great Wall Chinese Buffet? I don't know how many it will seat but it does have a banquet room.
jgf86123
Last year was beyond small Roy, I'm pretty sure it was standing room only and there couldn't of been more than 30 people there LOL

Michael7979
What about some place fun like bulwinkles. Then we can all feel like kids again. My wife had their summer party there for her work. It is spendy!! You have to pay just to enter before games/food. Not really fair to all members. I think we can do better. Plus it might be real nasty outside in December. Remember it snowed a few years ago on the date of the Xmas party.

jackaninny
We used to eat at Kwan's Chinese Kitchen all the time as a kid. Also check out La Margarita and Co. GREAT food. Don't have any idea what their biggest rooms are for either of the above but I remember that Reed Opera house seemed to host quite a few functions with lots of people. Maybe ask the restaurants if they cater out and if they could suggest a good facility.
Barelycuda
I believe the x-mas party was at kwan's in salem a couple years back. The food was pretty good and we had quite a few people there.
Michael7979
According to a web page all of these places say they have a banquet room. I haven't talked to any of them and I have no idea on room size either. Hometown Buffet Leftys South Ram Brewery Red Lion Hotel Reed Opera House Willamette Valley ZGrill and Bar Chipolte Mexican Grill Izzys The Original Roadhouse Keizer Renassiance Hotel Los Dos Amigos Anything stand out? ThePremiumAquarium
Kwan's was a good venue the last time we had it there. I am sure they would be willing to work with a croud of around 75 or so.
