jackaninny
Is that a webcam I see right below the Vortech and Neptune controllers?
Smann
Is that a webcam I see right below the Vortech and Neptune controllers? Yes, one there and one on the sump. We travel a couple times a year and I like to be able to see how things are doing. Also able to remote in to the Aqua Controller, you can only trust teenagers so much so if I can "see" the water level in the sump I can rest much easier. We were gone in Oct, a little more than a month after the tank was set up, the sump stayed right on the black line, it was nice to be able to take a quick look

Wireless, not very high end but works pretty good. Harold B
Hey is your skimmer being fed from your drain/overflow? Has the skimmer quieted down any after breaking in? I read it takes a few weeks and then they are supposed to quiet down some. Where did you get your chiller? What model? Thanks Harold

I read it takes a few weeks and then they are supposed to quiet down some. Where did you get your chiller? What model? Thanks Harold The skimmer is fed from the return manifold then back to the sump, so some water is being "reskimmed" but with the volume of water thru the sump its doesnt really matter. Right now I'm trying not to over skim with such a small bioload. The skimmer noise is the same but its in the tank room so it isnt heard in the family room Travis from Upscales ordered it for me, Its a Pacific Coast Imports CW-0500 heater/chiller
Harold B
Cool, I had the verry same chiller/heater slip right through my fingers about a month ago. Are you planning on adding more fish eventually/over time? What do you keep your ORP at? How much 03 are you running?

Smann
oops, on the fish, I lost all my fish to Ich about a month ago most went while I was on vacation. I'm letting the tank go for now and will begin to restock in a few weeks. I've been doing some reading and this time I think I'll go with some smaller species, different varieties and try to keep the reef look more to scale

Smann
Thats unfortunate. Ya I'm with you' date=' smaller reef fish but more of them is sweet looking.[/quote'] Definetly a bummer to lose fish that you've had for years but hey if you have never (which I havent) had a tank with no fish I highly reccomend it, Its quite the experience to see what grows and flourishes without the fish eating everything not to mention how clean the tank, sand and sump are. My advice if anyone is having algae problems, get rid of your fish for a month or two, you will be amazed!!
