This is not a club sponsored event in anyway.

But i'm going to be at the game of course, along with a few friends, and would like to extend an invite to anyone who would like to join in. Great chance to do some tailgating and take in some football in the spring!!! Bring your beverage of choice and a snack. I'll have a parking spot with a canopy, a few chairs, cooler, and a coleman stove (dang i need a portable bbq!).

ENTRY FEE TO THE GAME IS 3 CANS OF FOOD THAT WILL BE DONATED TO FOOD FOR LANE COUNTY. Come on down and see if we can break the record and get 20,000 lbs of food!!!

The whole event will be televised on ESPN2 and is also a tribute to the troops in the middle east:

"Before the spring game, a four-hour fan festival with the theme “Support Our Troops and Families” will be held in the Moshofsky Center at 10 a.m. Armed services personnel as well as representatives from the Red Cross and various veterans’ organizations will be in attendance.

For the game, the Ducks will wear specially designed jerseys. Nike is also donating 5,000 T-shirts to be sold at the game, with proceeds to be forwarded to families of deployed troops and returning veterans."

DUCKS OFFER FOOTBALL FANS FREE AUTZEN STADIUM SPRING GAME SHUTTLE

Carpooling for Saturday’s activities encouraged for fans insisting on driving.

EUGENE – The University of Oregon will offer free shuttles for Saturday’s Spring Game to and from Autzen Stadium to help alleviate traffic surrounding the university’s Casanova Center complex.

The Ducks will hold their final intrasquad football scrimmage of the spring from 2–4 p.m. Saturday in addition to the school’s baseball team hosting Washington State in PK Park at 5 p.m.

The annual Spring Game presented by Bi-Mart culminates the Ducks’ off-season football drills, in addition to providing the backdrop for the tribute to recognize active armed forces troops and their families who are serving or have returned from duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The free park-and-ride system will begin operation at noon and will depart from the Lane County Fairgrounds as well as the Valley River Inn. Parking also will be free at both drop-off locations.

The shuttles will depart for Autzen Stadium approximately every 15 minutes through kickoff for the 2 p.m. start, and will continue operation for about 30 minutes following the conclusion of the Spring Game.

The Ducks’ Sports Shuttles will cease operation prior to the start of the adjacent baseball game.

Fans choosing to drive to the Spring Game are encouraged to carpool, with the Autzen Stadium east parking lot to open at 9:30 a.m. Cost of parking will be $5 per vehicle. The parking lot will be accessible through entries 4 and 5 (Leo Harris Parkway), with the west end of Leo Harris Parkway to be closed to through traffic.

The Moshofsky Center will open at 10 a.m. and will feature live music, interactive games and information tables providing an outreach for veteran service organizations and active military personnel as part of the “Support our Troops and Families” tribute.

Food and beverages will be sold in the Mo Plaza at the east end of the Ducks’ indoor facility.

In conjunction with the event, the Duck Store in the northwest corner of the Moshofsky Center will sell specially-designed t-shirts donated by Nike beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, with all proceeds from the sales forwarded to families of deployed troops and returning veterans. In addition, a military discount of 20 percent will be offered to all past and present military personnel and their families on merchandise at the Moshofsky Center Duck Store only. (The specially-designed t-shirts and a few other items will be excluded from that discount).

Gates into Autzen Stadium will open at 1 p.m., with a donation of three non-perishable food items requested for admission. Last year, more than 22,000 pounds of food was generated for Food for Lane County from Oregon’s final spring scrimmage.

More info!!!

Saturday’s spring game will kick off at 2:06 p.m., that specific a time necessary because ESPN2 will televise the game and presumably wants a couple of minutes to lead into it once the 2 p.m. window opens.

The first two quarters will be 12 minutes rather than 15 and the second half will feature a running clock, to ensure the game fits nicely into the two-hour window ESPN2 has set aside for the telecast. The telecast will also be available on the Armed Forces Network, as the spring game will feature many tributes to our troops overseas and back at home.

Audio of the game will be available nationally as well, for those with satellite radio, on Sirius channel 122 and XM channel 143. In Oregon, audio can be found on 590-AM in Eugene, 95.5-FM in Portland, 1230-AM in Newport and 101.1-FM in Roseburg.

Replays of the telecast will appear statewide on Comcast Sports Net on Saturday at 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. and also midnight Monday morning.

Ducks won!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (laugh)

White team won. It was a great day. 25,000 people showed up, 35,000lbs of food donated, and the support our troops shirts are awesome!! The team lined up after the game and gave their special spring game jersey's to members of the military in a ceremony after the game.

Also the Ducks kicked rear at the Oregon Relay's earlier in the day. 7500 people showed up for that.

Then the Ducks beat Wazzu 6-1 in baseball to win their 4th straight Pac10 series. Over 3500 people showed up for that!

All day was a huge turnout and just great all around day to be a Duck. :D
