AquaticEngineer
Pretty much text book RTN, polyps receded a few days before, then base up tissue death. Its happening to two different milliporas right now that I got from 2 different sources. 1 blue, 1 rose. Going to do water changes, run some carbon, kick in a little extra iodine, kill the halides for a day or two. I could clip one colony off above the RTN but I dont have anywhere else to put it. Any suggestions? Anything that has worked for others? Is all hope lost(scary)
impur
Best bet it to cut above the RTN, then make sure you put superglue gel on the cut area and cover some of the flesh. I've had RTN stop before. Best bet is to quickly find out what caused it.
dsoz
Check your parameters and have a LFS check for phosphate with a meter. I had some RTN from high phosphates. It was sad because it was a large california tort and a large oregon tort, both within 2 days of each other. :( dsoz
AquaticEngineer
Did a 25% water change last night. Sucked all the detritus out of the refugium. Added some iodine. If it looks worse today I'll probably snap the top off of the larger piece. Guess we'll see tonight
Mandinga
I had some purple haze monti RTN when I put it too close to the halides. Once I moved them down, the RTN stopped on it's own. If they've been in the tank for a long time, this probably isn't the case. seen any nudibranch's?
AquaticEngineer
I did put some new bulbs in the tank about 2 weeks ago. But they were to replace a couple bulbs that were acting funny that were only 2 months old. Same wattage and spectrum. Haven't seen any nudibranchs........yet. I think I need to do a night time viewing tonight and see what I come up with.
