tanktop74
I have a built in microwave above my built in oven that has stopped heating things. Still runs, just not warming anything up. This microwave has only been in use for 1 year. I have no idea where to look for a repair person, is anyone here an appliance repair person by trade? I am not even sure how to get this thing out of the wall to replace it. Please send me a PM if you could be of some help to me, or have any good ideas! Thanks Beth
Twitterbait
I would contact the manufacturer and see about a warranty replacement. I know a few folks who could do thee replacement for you, not sure on cost.
tanktop74
I do believe it is out of warrenty, manufactured in Jan 2008, house was not occupied until march 09. So I imagine it was put in the new kitchen for a while unused. Any other suggestions? repair places? Handy man/woman that knows how to get it out of the wall? and install a new one?!?! R-3
Do you know where it was purchased from? Mostly likely the bottom of the micro is in a bracket and held on by 4 bolts on top cinching it down to the cabinet. Most of the time its more cost effective if you just buy a new one. Saltfinsax
The front grill or trim should come off with 4 screws and then the micro should be setting on some sheet metal to center it in the cabinet hole. Should lift out, then get a new one or try and get it fixed. New one is probably the best bet.
