Hey Miles,

 

Yeah, its through itunes. It worked great for me. Here's the tutorial:

 

 

1. Open itunes and select a song

2. Right click and select "Get info"

3. Select "options"

4. check the boxes for start and stop times

5. Enter the time that you would like your ring tone to begin

6. Enter the time that you would like your ring tone to end. Be sure that the total length is no longer than 39sec

7. Click "ok"

8. Select "Advanced" from the iTunes tool bar

9. Select "create AAC version"

10. Locate the short version of your song in your music library and drag it onto your desktop

11. Create a folder to store ring tones

12. put your song file in the new folder

13. Select "tools" from the folder tool bar

14. Select "folder options"

15. Click on "view"

16. Make sure that the box for "hide extensions for known file types" is NOT checked

17. Click ok

18. Rename your song with the extension .m4r at the end. Windows will prompt you to ok the change in extension. click "ok"

19. Delete the shortened version of your song in iTunes.

20. Play the renamed song from your folder so that it plays in iTunes.

21. Go to your iPhone sync-ing options and select the ringtone to load it onto your phone. Sync phone.

22. Return to the full length version of your song and uncheck the "start/stop" boxes in the get info screen.
