Rick Posted August 8, 2009 Share Posted August 8, 2009 As mentioned you need to find out how much your pump flows. 1" bulkheads will limit you to around 650 GPH each however that doesn't account for head hieght, bends in the tubing etc. I.E. An 1100 GPH pump (depending on the pump) may actually only pump 650 GPH through the system. If your doing the herbie setup then you will want to keep the flow less than the maximum that each pipe will flow by itself where the second one acts as a backup (which isn't a bad idea regardless of the method) that is capable of handling the entire flow by itself. Personally since you have 1" bulkheads I would just run 1" all of the way to the sump and then make sure the pump flows slightly less than that.
