so maxima's are good in the sand?

I don't think so. I believe they are a rock boring clam and are better off on the rocks if you can keep them there. (The Crocea I had kept walking off the rocks)

Maxima's are best in rocks. I just had that in the sand when I first brought it home. It came from the sand with weak light so I didn't want to fry it right way. I have since moved it to the rocks. It keeps moving around.

I see. OK because mine is on very top of my rocks and cant really move because it is in a bowl of sorts.

Is it ok to have zoa's or palys right next to it? They are dang near touching it. I am afraid that they will grow onto shell.

I would guess that they can be next to it with growing onto the shell being the worst that could happen. (Frank has a big one with xenia growing on it)
