I have a clam that is on his way out. :( I've moved him to my frag tank to give him some TLC but nothing has helped. This morning he had a hole ripped in his mantle just above the outlet siphon. He is gaping and his main mantle has receeded way past the edge of his shell.

So. What is the best way to put a clam down? I don't want him to die and have the pollution take others with him.

I feel bad for him. :( All of my other clams are doing great by the way.

Take him out of the tank and put him in fresh water. It has long been a topic of debate if if fish feel anything...Maybe a clams do not...

You can do it the same as you would a fish I think, put it in some water and then put it in the freezer.
