View Full Version : DIY pendant hanger

Well its pretty simple, but its fully DIY and allows you to hang a pendant or light without putting holes in the ceiling or wall.

I used 1.5" ABS, 2 45 els and 2 90 els plus some plastic plumbers strap to secure it to the stand.

Here is a pic of how i've strapped it to the stand. The pipe is strapped to the vertical sides of my stand.

I hang the pendant about 12" from the water surface, so i had to get the hanger high enough for that, but also so i can move it out of the way if need be AND i had to center it over the tank. That is where the 45s came in.

Finished product. Works very well IMO and doesn't look horrid. Now if i could only redo my return plumbing......

Nice work. That turned out pretty good... and no holes in the ceiling or wall. I like it.

dude, now you just need a diy coraline scraper for the side!

looks great! where did you get the pullies or whatever those are?

Yah, i'll get to scraping that. I used to have a sort of zoo wall set up against the glass there.

I got those at a LFS here, they are made by sunlight supply.
