Shortening a RPS-3000 Skimmer

I have a RPS-3000 PCI Skimmer that needs to be shortened if possible. I am not sure if this can be done by PCI or some other way if at all . I noticed that PCI has shorter versions available so I think it is possible. The total hight I am looking for is no more than 26" so I would need to remove 4 1/2" from the RPS-3000 some how.
