okay new question on lighting and lr

okay so I want to buy my live rock as soon as possible...problem I am getting a halid light (dual 250 watt) but its going to take alittle longer than I wanted/ though(wife) ....I have regular floresent lights now and could prob get diff bulbs what is the min requirment for live rock? (55g)

I don't think live rock requires a minimum amount of light. Don't worry about your lights until you have corals or anemones that will require it for survival and growth.

Read about my tank in the member aquarium section (Reef Junkie) I had my rock under a normal fluorescent shoplight for several weeks before I got my T5HO lights.

The rock does not need any light to cycle. Light just causes algae to grow. You may or may not want this. I wanted algae to grow so there was food for the 'pods and hermits that I had in my tank.
