hydnophora will kill ANYTHING, including hammer. Personal experience. :(

But after that, the hammer will probably take out your monti fairly quickly if it gets pissed at it.

I ended up moving my hammer over. They did touch a couple times, but neither showed signs of stress.

I voted montipora because, it can grow faster than that hammer. The monti might die where the hammer is but it's out edges would keep growing. I guess if it was a fight to the death neither would win.
