I was able to catch my male out of my stocked 180 as he was about to pop...

I have about 20ish brand new babies as of about 10 mins ago that need a good home ASAP!

MUST have separate raising tank, and baby brine shrimp hatched NOW...not getting ready, now....these guys gotta eat within hours... they are sitting in a net in my tank. I dont have my banggai breeding system up in my new house yet and they were faster than me!

Otherwise anyone know where you can get the hatched baby brine?

I will check this often...again not first come first serve...I want to see their home...otherwise I will chance it myself

I have the tank no brine hatched. If you find a source for brine I will house them for you.

Yeah they may need to stay in your tank. What about one of those breeder nets that hangs on the side of the tank. I used to grow out my cichlids in one of those.

yeah thats no issue I suppose for a few days...but they need to eat ASAP or they will be toast...if not now, later due to sudden fright syndrome (SFS).

Dave, Barelycuda has a brine hatchery for his clown breeding system.

I think the wet spot sells brine. They are in the Hollywood district, definitely give them a call before you head over. They are the largest freshwater fish store in PDX I believe.

Does it have to be "baby" brine shrimp, or will any live brine shrimp work?

I was just reading MVPaquatics thread about raising Banggai's - sounds really cool but also stressful! Good luck with the new babies; wish I could help...

Great picture. I do not think you would be intruding. I know Dave has tried to breed these and is really passionate about this part of the hobby. If they all survive that's 27 to 28 bangaiis that are not removed from the ocean!

If Dave does not get them I also can take them. Got a tub, baby brine, rotifers and copepods all ready to go. PM'd my cel number... but Dave is a better choice. Or you can take the food from me and raise them yourself.

Glad you got the male to hold them, and that is a good number! Has he been doing that a long time? Glad I don't have to take them, I feel like I have to try if the opportunity comes up but I got a lot on my plate this month.

A friend of mine who quit killifish has a pair of SF Bay hatchers, the kind you hook up to a 2 liter pop bottle, at least half a can of grade A eggs, and 2 backup bases for the hatchers for sale still in the package if you are interested. I am all set here so not buying them. Offer also stands if you want free starts of pods and rotifers. The more people raising live food the more insurance there is in case my cultures crash (:

That's awesome of you to pass them along and I'm glad you were able to get them Dave. I hope all of them make it.

Yeah I am glad too...I was scrambling trying to get some food in case I didnt get a hold of anyone. It is nice to have a place to get help like that when you need it.

And yes this happens a lot (getting babies, not being ill-prepared lol), I have lost count of how many batches this one has produced. I sell a lot of sexed pairs (last ones went to trautman, which I believe spawned the day I gave them to him).

I am glad they got good homes, but I am a little dissappointed in my preparedness, I just really didnt think he would hold his first batch of eggs in the new house/setup. Already got plans for my breeding setup, and live food cultures!
