Picked up this Chalice today at a LFS, and the LFS owner had no idea what it was (scratch). So I paid $25 for it (clap)

Any idea what it is? It's a really bright orangish pink color. I apologize for the phone pic!

My guess is of the Echinophyllia genus, does not look like a Mycedium-

Lol I don't think that's what she was looking for. I would agree echinophyllia. I don't know that it ius a specific named chalice Katrina. Just like zoanthids there are many that are not named.

there are hundreds if not thousands of different color morphed chalice in the oceans and only select handfuls get those catchy names that drive them up to over 10-50x what the store paid for them.

Feel free to name it whatever you like, you can add LE (limited edition) behind it since it is a 1 of a kind and if you market it right (laugh)

The point is there are hundreds with no names to every 1 with that catchy marketing buzz name. Some of those wild no namers grow out to be brilliant pieces and you can get lucky.

Emerald is the resident chalice nut or maybe just the resident............never mind

Nice chalice Katrina

Ya, i dont think that one has any 'fancy name' looks like it will probably turn a nice red or pink, just depending on your tank conditions and lighting
