I need to chop the side of my Spongodes. I have lost a couple branches of my light blue tip stag to him.

The problem is, I think if I put to much pressure on it that the whole thing will come off the rock. So I am looking for ways of cutting it in the tank as the rock is to big.

I think it's too thick, it's about 1/4" and cupped.

You'll be surprised how easy it breaks, I have one as well, the problem is it wont break where you want it to-murphys law

I have some short nosed stainless steel clippers that I got from the drug store. Got a little pair of stainless steel scissors in the same area. They are nice for clipping things in the tank.

Do they make a under water Dremel?
Has anyone ever used one of them cable extinctions and just used it under water?

Yes, you can wrap the extension in a plastic bag then use it under water, Tip, don't turn it on until its under water!

BRS sells a frag kit that has an awesome bone crunching cutter...LINK (http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/store/products/fragging-supplies/coral-propagation-tools-and-glue/standard-brs-coral-propagation-kit-1.html)

I'd love to find a local place that sold these kits!!!

Stainless is KEY...otherwise it'll be a heaping pile of rust within weeks.
here is another i found...

Oh and ya just grab it and snap it off like your taking a piece of a cookie, it will brake easyer than you think like Brad said.

I'd move the whole piece personally if it will come off that easy. JMO
