So I was moving a rock in my tank to retrieve a frag I dropped and a ricordea that was on the edge had attached to its neighboring rock. The result of my moving the rock was that I ripped the ricordea in half, maybe not exactly in half, but you get the idea. Do ya think it, or they as it is, will survive? I took a good close look, I don't get to see the insides of a ricordea that often, and it looks like the mouth got torn so theres a little on each side.
Is there anything i should do to help promote survival?
Heres a pic of the carnage.

done that before, just let it be and it will heal up. it's like propagation.

I was thinking the same thing but since I've never ran a chop shop for rics yet I didn't want to answer...LOL

From my own experience as long as your tanks running well. Both pieces will be fine. I recently cut/butchered up a couple rics and left the smallest lil bit on the rock they were attached too. And it's now growing into it's own lil ric:)
I have chopped rics into as many as 4 pieces and all survived the experience. It would have been better if the cut was cleaner, but you have what you have. Should be just fine. :)

I've cut them in half in place with a scalpel, scrapped them off a rock then cut them in quarters with scissors and ripped them in pieces (just like you did here). Every time recovery was just fine. If it was fat and happy before shredding it, then it will heal up and now you have an extra ric. Nice work:)

Maybe i should make another "mistake" lol.
Thanks for the input everyone, its good to know that this time my carelessness didn't result in the senceless death of an innocent, and attractive, bystander.
