Might as well start it up. I've been to 2 Duck games this year. The last one our freshman point guard (he's 5'6") is amazing!!!! Lightning quick and can hit it from anywhere on the court. Just head over to goducks.com and see the video. 65 footer nothing but net. That was one of his 10 3 pointers, 38 points in all. Freshman record. He might be the spark the Ducks need to get back to the tourney.

Well i hit up the Ducks VS UC Irvine game friday night. Game was close throughout the first half till about 3 min left and the Ducks went on a run. Ended the half up by 10 and never looked back, won by 43. Champ took the reigns this time going for 25 points with 6 threes. TP did decent, 12 points, 6 boards and 3 assists although he had 3 turnovers. They guarded him real close, there was never a guy more than 2 feet from TP. That freed up Champ and AB to drain 3s all day.

Next up Rice tonight!! Then #8 Georgetown on Wednesday. Now we'll see if the Ducks are better than the past 2 seasons or if they fall into the same rut.

Looks like the Beavs got destroyed by Hawaii 41-85. Don't know what to say there.

That was the best basketball game I have been to.. hands down!

Well i just got done watching the UO vs Rice game. Not sure if i should be ecstatic at the 10 point come from behind victory in the last 2 min or be hohum since they shouldn't have had to come back. It shows this team has come a long way, that conditioning just paid off. Last year they lost like 8 games by a total of 13 points. Maybe they got over the hump? AB had a great game, 30pts, 6reb, 7ast and TP hit 3 (would have been 4 except called for traveling on last shot of the game to win) threes in a row to bring em back. What a freshman.

Ducks just might be for real!! Beat #18 G'town in DC 57-50! WAY TO GO DUCKS!!!! Maarty held Mr. Hibert to 4pts 3reb while collecting 8pts and 8reb for himself. That guy is good, avging 11.2reb a game, very impressive. This team plays some great team defense, reminds me of UW last year. Pressure man to man, deny passes all over the court, steals and fast breaks. AB is really taking this team on his back and proving he is the high profile PG he was recruited to be!

GO DUCKS!! 6-0!

Beavs barely got past N. Colorado and beat Montana St. Looks like Cuic is reinstated after being suspended, they need him. Record stands at 4-3, looks like another long season for Jay John.

well oregon pulled off another solid win over a quality opponent. nebraska isnt exactly UCLA but better than some pac-10 teams. Leunen did another FANTASTIC defensive job. good outside shooting and tremendous rebounding. up next is Bethune-Cookman. Beavers beat them by 23. UH-OH! ducks should whup em by about 40!(plotting) LOL.....GO DUCKS!(clap)

impur
12-10-2006, 07:33 PM
Yah that was another impressive showing. I feel sorry for whoever the ducks play when they actually shoot the ball well. They've been winning with defense. Forcing 21 TOs a game! The rest of the OOC schedule is REAL soft, looks like we have a solid chance of being 12-0 going into Pac10 play. And 5 more home games for me to hit up :D

GO DUCKS!!! 7-0

eastern washington is the last actual challenge on the non conference schedule. I probably wont get to see but 1 game this year. and it will be when the civil war in corvallis. dont get to eugene too much and its a pain in the butt to find parking near mac court

impur
12-11-2006, 07:34 AM
Yes it sure is a pain to park, and its always raining!

E. Washington is having a decent year, i don't think they'll pose much of a threat though.

Bethune-Cookman tonight!

Nevermind, E. Wash is 5-4 not such a decent year.

Ducks did not play well last night. Played horrible in the first half, bad in the second. 92-64 still got the W though. Bring on E Washington

8-0!! GO DUCKS!!!

impur
12-15-2006, 10:14 AM
Ducks have Stuckey and E. Washington in town tonight!! We'll see if they can keep him below his avg like Santa Clara did. He's #3 scorer in the country, and the Ducks had a tough time with Allmond of Rice who is #1 scorer, he got 28 on us. But if they can limit what his teammates do, should be able to get the W. He can't do it all by himself.

GO DUCKS!!!

vanz
12-15-2006, 11:32 AM

impur
12-16-2006, 10:46 AM
Well Stuckey only played 4 min and scored a couple points due to back spasms. Ducks poured it on again in the second half and got the W!!! 100-74.

Taylor had 24pts Hairston 20. Each game another guy steps up. 9-0!!

Beavs have LSU coming sunday i think. Good luck....

LFMAO oh man this is good. Ok so Clemson was ranked #25 in last weeks USA/ESPN poll, Oregon #24. Oregon played 3 games, all blowouts. Clemson did not play a single game. So today the new rankings come out, Clemson #22 Oregon #23!!!!! WTF you play zero games and leapfrog a team that won 3 games by an avg margin of 30???

mister crabs
12-18-2006, 11:44 AM
east coast bias.....even though oregond played three games they didnt play anybody of value....at least not to voters. Oregon REALLY needs to step up thier non conference schedule. better to go to florida or duke and lose the game than to beat up on little schools by 30 points. nebraska and georgetown were great scheduling tactics but idaho state? bethune cookman? c'mon now....enough with the patsies. Its exactly why i cant get too excited about this team until the PAC-10 schedule starts up. havent proven we can hang with real teams with div.1 talent yet.

impur
12-18-2006, 01:53 PM
Well theres more to it than that i think. Remember Kent almost lost his job after last year. Moos gave him a last chance. SOOOOO, they schedule a bunch of patsies So we can go into Pac10 play 12-0. Then you win 6 to 8 out of 18 Pac10 games, you have a 20 win season, get into the tourney and Moos looks like he made the best decision.

But go check out other team's OOC schedule. UW is #17, they were #8, and were like 8-0 agains all lessor competition. ALL AT HOME! They have only played 1 game away from home, while the Ducks traveled to Gtown and Rice. The one game UW played away from home was at Gonzaga and they got smoked by 20.

At any rate, i think the OOC schedule is really right on par with the rest of the top teams. Duke has only played Marquette and Gtown and they lost to Marquette, Ohio St has played 2 away games and the only ranked team was North Carolina who they lost to. For every Idaho St Oregon plays, UNC, Duke, Ohio St, all have a E. Kentucky or Youngstown St.

Wow just going thru those 3 teams, who all have huge NCAA tradition in bball, combined they have played a total of 2 away games!!!

mister crabs
12-18-2006, 02:33 PM
-duke does have alot of home games but look who they were against- marquette, indiana, georgetown, george mason = all good teams
-florida does seem to have a rather weak schedule with exception of kansas and FL. ST.
-and uconn schedule IS a joke
but i wasnt referring to other teams schedules as much as our own. we need to step up and go play AT florida or uconn or even duke. a close loss there will look far better than a blowout at home against a subpar team not only to the voters each week but ultimately to the NCAA tourney selection comittee.
Dont get me wrong, I am a die hard duck fan but i would like to see them play some better competition so we dont get all hyped up about going 10-0 against some so-so competition.
I would be much more excited about an oregon team that was maybe 6-4 or even 5-5 but had some close road losses at traditional ACC or SEC powerhouse teams. Oregon State did well just by playing LSU because they got media press for it. Nobody on the east coast cares about oregon whoopin up on eastern washington. How bout a game against Gonzaga? or maybe texas or even a road game at North Carolina? Now that would get some attention and respect for the program even if they lose.

impur
12-18-2006, 03:42 PM
You make a good point. I think that Kent had to consider the kids he's playing too. Remember last year, started 3-0 or 4-0 and riding high, then went to Vandy and got beat on that last minute half court shot. Then down went the confidence, losses started to pile up. Keep em riding high OOC, then when the Pac10 roles around they have some swagger and aren't doubting themselves.

Pac10 season starts Dec 30th, so its right around the corner. BRING ON THE BEAVS!!!

GO DUCKS!!

Ugh what a year for Oregon sports and injuries. Hairston is out indefinately with soft tissue damage in his heel. That means the Ducks now are down to 6 total players in rotation. 6!!!!! And Churchill Odia has only played 3 games sparingly due to a knee injury.

Hairston - heel
Oguchi - ankle
Porter - toe
Stelly - groin
Akewnuke - tendonitis

With all that its amazing this team is 10-0

impur

11-0 baby!! Ducks dispatched Mercer on Saturday with only 7 guys in rotation, Aaron Brooks had 27, Taylor 21. Maarty Luenen continued his solid play with 11pts and 18rebs. I said it before i'll say it again, that guy is a rebounding machine!!!! Up to #20, next up Portland on Thursday, then civil war!!! Travel to Cornvallis on Sat. to beat up the Beavs!!

Ducks got a big verbal commitment yesterday. Drew Wiley from 1A McKenzie HS has stated he will play for the Ducks. He's only a junior this year, and at 6-6 190lbs is avging 25.6pts, 12rebs, 4steals, 5assts, 3blocks a game. Very impressive numbers. Should give the ducks a great wing player when Hairston is gone.

This kid reminds me of Luke Jackson a lot!

Ducks win again!!! 12-0 first time since 1947. Luenen had ANOTHER monster game, 24pts 14reb and AB had 19pts. Catron added 17rebs. 76-49 revenge on the Pilots!!! Muwahahhaa

Next up CIVL WAR!!! Bring on the beavs!!!

mister crabs

Well the first civil war of the basketball season is in the books and oregon wins by 3. Solid effort from both teams. Its going to be TOUGH to win on the road this year in the PAC-10. Entire conference looks good top to bottom. Definately not anybody going run the table. Oregon has gotta quit turning the ball over and beavers need to work on thier free throws. but both teams looked improved over last year.

Yah that was a good game. Ducks shot terribly from the field, but their defense won them the game. Beavs put up a fight, and shot real well.

Up to #16, next up USC at The Pit on Thursday!!

GO DUCKS!!!

impur
01-05-2007, 09:39 AM
Well it was the same ole Ducks out on the court last night, the same ones that couldn't win a big game last year, the same ones that lost 8 games by 3 pts or less, the same one that chokes down the stretch. Aaron Brooks had a chance to push the game to OT, all he had to do was hit 3 free throws, but he choked on the second one and bricked it off the back iron. Thus another important game the Ducks couldn't win.

Ducks had no defense in this game, and couldn't make a shot to save their lives. USC shot 64% in the second half giving them 55.4% on FG for the game, Ducks shot 40% and went 5-22 on threes when you take away ABs 5-8 on threes. Is there anyone on this team that can hit a big shot?

Beavs got pounded by UCLA as expected.

Next up for the Ducks is #1 UCLA on saturday. Its not gonna be as big of a game now, and i'm expecting the worst, but i'll be there cheering all the same!!

Ducks got anothe win, finally beating Stanturd for the first time in 7 tries. None of the current Ducks have ever beaten Stanturd. The trees tried to play an aggessive, physical game but the refs weren't having it. They called the game close from the start and the trees never adjusted. That gave the Ducks a huge advantage at the line, and the trees couldn't defend as tight with so many guys in foul trouble. Once again, AB proved to be the differenece getting a double double 19pts 10rebs and going 10/10 at the line.

GREAT WIN!!! 17-1 baby!!! BRING ON CAL!!!

Beavs lost...again, to Cal by 2. Jones had a great game, too bad only 2 or 3 guys really play for the beavs, the rest just mope around waiting for the game to end. Pathetic. Jay John can't get those guys motivated.

Well this is certainly not the same team w/o AB. Down by 3 with 3 min left, the Ducks fumbled the ball away on 6 straight trips. 6 straight UNFORCED turnovers!!!!!!!!!!!!! My god it was painful to watch the ball slip thru guys hands, dribble it off their knees, or just roll it out of bounds. Ugly game for the Ducks. TP was exposed on the defensive end by Dentmon who just dominated this game.

I thought this was the only real winnable game on this 4 game road trip. Now its a real uphill battle and coming out 1-3 on the trip would be something, but it looks like 0-4 is more realistic. Damn.

Beavs got toasted again, nothing new there. They are gonna battle ASU for the last spot in the Pac all year.

Yah that was a tough win. Talk about some crappy officiating over the weekend. Just really really poor overall both ways.

UW is a bunch of pansies. If they really wanted a game and weren't still fuming over AB taking down Apppleby last year they should have demanded he play. Obviously he was the difference. I hope the Ducks really take it to them at The Pit.

Wazzu got their first loss of the year at home. What a game, Maarty was huge down the stretch and AB wouldn't let them lose again.

UCLA lost to Stanturd last night! Ducks still #1 in the Pac.

Beavs lost to both Washington schools. Still #9 in the Pac.

Ducks had a chance to make a statement last night. Fell flat on their asses. I had to check a couple times to see if i was watching a rerun of last years team. Looked eerily familiar last night.

Maarty and Malik have just about disappeared from this team. Luenen has a total of 14 points in the last 3 games, Malik has only been good for 4-5 fouls a game. He doesn't defend, doesn't rebound, doesn't score. 1-2 on this road trip, things might get ugly the rest of the season. This team looked lost last night, at UW, and for most of the game at Wazzu. Lets hope Ernie can right the ship.

Hey, did we all go thru a time portal to last year? Cuz i've watched reruns of last years games, and the last 6 games in this stretch for the Ducks looks EXACTLY like last year. No fire, can't defend, can't shoot, lazy passes, nobody wanting to step up and do what it takes to win. Its funny, even the headlines in the paper are the same as last year. After each loss they headline what Kent thinks needs work. First its shooting, so they practice shooting all week. They come out and shoot 42%, get lit up for 80pts and 52% FGs and outrebounded. Then its defense, so they practice defending all week and can't shoot worth crap in the game. So they practice shooting all week again, and then the defense is non-existant and they give up 90pts. So then its rebounding! So they out-rebound the other team in the next game, shoot 29%, and get lit up for 80pts.

Ernie Kent is a moron. HEY ERNIE, HOW ABOUT YOU DO THE SAME STUFF IN PRACTICE THAT YOU DID THE FIRST 18 GAMES OF THE SEASON? WHAT AN IDEA!!!!!! THE TEAM WAS WINNING, IT WORKED!!!!! HI MY NAMES EARTH, HAVE WE MET?????

Its like dejavu from the football team meltdown i tell ya.

Hello NIT!!! Went from a #2 seed in the tourney a month ago to probably the NIT. Way to go Ducks, just like the football team!!! Lost 6 of last 8, still have to play at Stanturd, Wazzu, UW, Beavs at home. Only game i predict the Ducks will be in is the civil war, and even that game i'm giving to the beavs. I don't expect this team to win a single game the rest of the year. Way to fold Ducks! Jeez.

Ernie is gone after this year. Watch. Pathetic.

Ducks got back on track beating both Washington schools. The Wazzu game was real exciting, TP lit them up for 21. Just couldn't miss on 3s

UW game was LOUD! The whole stadium booed Appleby every time he touched the ball. They chanted APPLE***** and one dude had a sign that read: *****es get Stiches. LOL. AB tried to shake his hand before and after the game, but Appleby snubbed him each time. Appleby had a good first half when TP was guarding him, hit 5 of 6 three pointers and had 17 pts at half. But Kent put Taylor and AB on him for the second half and he didn't score a FG again, only had 4 freethrows on back to back technicals. AB torched the puppies in the second half, finished with 30 for the game.

Back in the tourney boys! Bring on the Beavs!

Ducks routed the beavs in last game of the year 70-49. Ducks shot great, beavs didn't. Terrilbe officiating both ways, these pac10 refs are horrible.

On to the pac10 tourney, Ducks face Zona. Beavs take on Cal.

Anyone else still following this thread? (laugh)

Beavs got toasted by Cal. Man that team sux. How the hell did McGillis make that team? HE IS TERRIBLE!!!! Ryan, you could probably beat him at 1 on 1 (laugh)

Ducks just got done dispatching Zona by 19. Man they played great, TP had 21, AB 16. Next up is winner of fUCLA/Cal.

ducks vs ucla rematch eh? maybe we can knock em off again and up our tourney seeding a little bit!
i am not surprised the beavs lost.....they are a year or two away still. kinda surprised ducks rolled over zona so easily though.

A year or 2 away from what? Less than 20 losses? LOL

Yah rematch with fUCLA. Should be a good one. Maybe Cal will knock em off though...yea right.

well soo much for ucla......bring on cal. we match up better with them. If the ducks can pull off a tourney championship then they may end up as a 2 or 3 seed in the west and get to stay in spokane.

beavers arent bad....just young. they are missing some key pieces and need help on the defensive end.

Yah, way to go Pac10 Player of the Year!! 38min, 3pts, 1-7FGs, 1-4FTs, 0reb, 1ast, 5fouls. He really backed that award up, great job Pac10 voting committee!!! Just goes to show, you don't have to actually be the best player in the Pac10, just the stand out guy on the best team in the conf. (laugh) What a joke.

Ducks, time for payback!! Need to roll over Cal. I don't see the Ducks getting any higher than a 5 seed. But it might be enough to keep em in Spokane.

Well, the beavers just broke the school's all-time record for losses in a season. So there really isn't anywhere for them to go but up. I don't see it happening with the guys they have. Cuic only plays 1/3 of the time, the rest he's just out there lofting up 3s and tossing the ball out of bounds. Tarver turns the ball over too much but he is young, and Jones only seems to want to play for a half at a time.

Ok i think i figured out why Afflalo got POY, it MUST be his defense. I mean he held Ubaka to only 29 points! Thats the kicker right there.

Wow the Ducks are on a roll!! They are playing their best basketball at the perfect time. Taylor was unconscious!!!!! 11/11 FGs, 7/7 threes, 3/3 FT 32pts!!! Unreal. TP dropped in 24 i think and was voted most outstanding player of the tourny, scoring 61pts total in the tourny. Just awesome.

Ducks are a 3 seed in the NCAA field!!! How awesome is that?!?!?!? Playing in Spokane against Miami Ohio :D
