View Full Version : Best food mixture for target feeding
I would like to start target feeding some of my corals more. It has worked well in past but I didnt do it often enough. What does everyone use? Something kinda like Reef Chili? Later Ryan

Get an old blender and mix up your own formula,( with all kinda seafoods),and freeze it so you only have to make it so often.

I usually just make a slurry of stuff... frozen formula one cube, cyclopeeze, oyster eggs, phyto... whatever I have lying around. Then I squirt 'em with the turkey baster. (laugh)

Yeah mine get some of my homemade food; for that I just go to the local grocery store and get as many different pieces of raw seafood as I can then rinse, put in food processor, add cyclopeze, nori, garlic, and other stuff, then blend with processor. They and the fish love it.

Next time you see a nurse, ask them to get you a syringe without the needle....that's what I've used for feeding....a little less cumbersome than the turkey baster :)

Use the old syringe and attachment from a Sailifert test kit.

Or get some from your local feed store. They are used to dose oral meds to animals.
I also use a mix...usually mysis with whatever else is in the freezer.
Yuuummm you guys got me hungry. :) Cool I was just trying to get a feel for what everyone was using. I'll make something up this weekend hopefully. Later Ryan
frozen gumbo from A to Z when Lise use to work there. Do they have it at Fantaseas now? Anyway...been using the frozen block for almost a year ...do they go bad?? The fish and anemone's don't refuse it.

Well, I will certainly look into "scoring" myself a syringe!

It's funny, the lady at the hospital said to make sure I kept it hidden so nobody thought she was helping support a drug addict :) No Joke!

The ones in old test kits will work also.
