If you haven't gone to Rosecity, you should check out the Mantis shrimps that Nick has!(scary)

He has several but there is one particular bad boy that looks like this:

I can see now why they have been known to break tanks!:eek:

I put my hand on the tank and the sucker pounded on the glass and I could feel it all the way through my hand! It sounded like someone threw a big rock at the tank! :eek:

I was a little worried that he was going to break the tank!DOH! LOL! and I'm sure glad my hand wasn't in the tank!(nutty)

I want to do a display refugium on my next build, kinda mimicing Danik's, and have a peacock mantis in it, they're just too cool, but I aint about to put one in my reef tank LOL

I saw a bunch at a stall in one of the market scenes in Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations show. It made me sad and hungry at the same time.

that thing is outstanding. I was there a couple weeks ago checking it out. They have something like 4-d vision, each eye rotates and works on its own, and/or in conjunction with the other eye. I'm pretty sure they have a higher iq than most grown adults.

I was at Rose City about a month ago and one of the Mantis was smacking a shell and you could hear it in the other room. Also while I was standing in front of the tank and he/she was staring back at me I got the distinct feeling I was being sized up. Wicked cool little creatures.
