water testing

this is going to sound crazy
i tasted my water comming out of the tap today and got a zero reading then i tested my water that i had for top off zero reading i did a water change using kent salt and tested it and it had a .25 reading i know how to test water been in hobby for 3 years i used a red sea test kit that is not outdated just got it 3 weeks ago is because of the salt?

Could be. Try making another batch and testing it. Could also be something that was in the container you mixed in.
