ive be looking to get this for a long time this is a awsome coral hard to get very rare it wasnt cheap to get it but worth it.

I got a nice alien eye echino from Waves. Its the blue with green eyes, but the blue is a bit faded since it was under 400w MH. I've got it shaded now hoping it will color up, i'll try to get a pic.

Being my first echino, how do these grow? Do they form skeleton on their own and the flesh grows over that? Or do they need some rock to encrust? Which way do they grow faster?

they grow out just like a encrusting coral flesh grows with skeleton if on flat service they grow flat so when there mounted on rock they tend to follow contours of rock and make small mounds with valleys but they grow just as fast etheir way.
