My Fire Shrimp molted last night & left this perfect sized exoskeleton. My wife is getting ready to read a book about Lobsters to her class starting Monday & would like to take it to her class to show her kids. She's worried though that the shrimp needs to eat the exoskeleton like a lobster does to get calcium & help rebuild his shell & she's not sure she should take it from the tank. Can anyone teach the teacher here?
Remove it and keep it in a small jar of water so it does not collapse. Most people remove the molt anyway.

There should be no problem removing it.

I always remove the exoskeleten. My cleaner has been shedding very frequently. I keep my Ca levels above 400 so I thiks he gets all he needs that way. Hope that helps!

My fire shrimp never touch their exocskeletons when they molt.

My cleaner just shed the other day, I removed the molt, and then my fish killed my shrimp....go figure. +1 on the place molt in water to avoid collapse.
