This article reminded me how much fun I had as a kid (and as a parent with my own kids) exploring Hood Canal during low tide.

Beach combing has always been the main attraction for me at the coast. I hear people whining that they never find any cool shells, I always find a ton. On my last trip to the beach I brought back about thirty fossilized shells.

Which beach?

Maybe this thread should be a "what's your favorite place to tidepool, beachcomb, snorkel or dive" thread. Just keep it to the Pacific Northwest.

Mine is Whitney Point, just north of Dosewallops on Hood Canal.

I love puget sound!!! My grandparents have a house that is right on the water basically and its all houses backed up tot he beach so not alot of people from public know its there so its all most like a private beach, and they have alot of rocks that are usualy covered by water, but when the tide is low the rocks are exposed, and you can find starfish the size of a small child. I love it!!

I lived in Port Townsend a few years back, the Hood Canal is truly one of the most beautiful spots in the NW
