Looks like Pseudochromis porphyreus.
Purple pseudochromis.

ah....just someone had said, originally when asking about this fish, that it depends on whether it was a psuedochromis or a dottyback, if it would go good in my tank.

I have one of these guys! I named him Achmed and I really like him. Although he is a fairly shy fish, and easily startled, he is also absolutely beautiful and pretty active. My research indicated that I would need to be cautious should I consider adding other basslets or similarly shaped fish. Pretty fish! Congrats!

Likewise - I have had these on and off for many years and they have been really nice community fish. I just wouldn't add any other basslet though or it would probably get ugly fast! Enjoy!
